Urban Cinderella

Creative Karma is back again with another post. It's been a while since my last post but real life likes to settle in hard when it does. So for now it's leaving me alone to allow me to write, read, and hunt for jobs.

However, today's post is actually coming out of one of my old notebooks. I've decided to pull out one of my old poems and post show that around a bit. Hopefully, someone pops in and reads it.

Urban Cinderella

Phase 1
Closed off
Invisible
Pushed away from everyone
else by own will.
In the corner
Pressed small
Wanting care from
the unseeing world.

Phase 2
Acceptance
Release
Finding the outlet to
relive the suffering.
Drugs
Alcohol
Nights of fear to
forget the pain.

Phase 3
Giving up
Lost
Can no longer bear
the present course of life.
Lines on the skin
Loss of interest
Trying to escape from
a life of pain.

Phase 4
Helping hand
Open arms
A secondary voice
giving power to the will.
Open ear
Crying shoulder
Finally a true release
from a lifetime of pain

The Secret

I was browsing through my messages on my DA (Deviant Art) account and I came across a poem one of my friends had written about one of the characters in a story she was writing. That got me to thinking, maybe I should write some poems about my own characters.

So, I picked a character I created. A girl named Evelyn. If you look at my previous posts you'll find two drawings I've done of her.

I called this poem The Secret.

If you want to know the secret...look up her photo.

Happy Hunting.

The Secret

I move through life..
invisible to the world.
No one can see me.
No one wants to see me.
Except for him.

Across the crowded room,
our eyes lock on each other.
His filled with curiosity…and concern.
I look away,
Hide behind my hair.

The hair that hides the secret.
The secret that no one must know.
If he only knew
he wouldn’t look at me that way.
Just another outcast.

With a secret.

This is Creative Karma just writing out my hopes one line at a time.
